Crossing Canada from West to East for the 8th time since 2000, the ECM+'s Generation 2014 Canadian tour conducted by Véronique Lacroix and hosted by composer Gabriel Dharmoo presents a new edition of this now legendary project! Come listen to the new works by Marie-Pierre Brasset (Qc), Evelin Ramon (Qc-Cuba), Alec Hall (Ont-New York) and Anthony Tan (AB-Berlin) in some electrifying performances of the ECM+. The audiences of the nine-cities tour of Generation 2014 will get to choose the winner of the Generation 2014 Audience Choice Award by voting for their favourite piece.

Generation/ Ateliers & Concert
20YEARS / 1994-2014

ECM+ celebrates this year the 20th anniversary of Generation project - initiated in 1994 under the name Ateliers et Concert – which has since contributed to launch the career of 53 Canadian composers! This event, unique in Canada, has led to an equivalent number of new works premiered, through 8 large canadian tours, for a total of 53 concerts in sixteen different cities.

Génération has cast light, over the years, on dozens of composers amongst the most talented of the new generations: Ana Sokolovic, Jean-François Laporte, Nicole Lizée, Louis Dufort, Nicolas Gilbert, André Ristic, Gordon Fitzell, Paul Frehner, Maxime McKinley, Gabriel Dharmoo, etc.

20 years of new generations of composers, an event worth celebrating!
ECM+ will mark this anniversary by adding a Generation Jury Prize awarded by a jury of Generation alumni, as well as by publishing a 20th anniversary Génération/ Ateliers & Concert book and adding a special page on its website.
